It was the night before we set sail for the beautiful Bahamas. We finished our last-minute packing and made sure that everything is in order before we left. We were so excited that we went to bed at about four AM. The next morning, we got ready and went to drop our car off at a relative’s house. They dropped us off at the terminal in New York. Before I go on, here is a word of advice about the Pier 88 terminal; get there early because you may be inching in traffic around that area for thirty minutes or more.

Throughout our trip, we have been sent invitations to numerous Park West raffles. Every time we showed up, we (along with a few others) were ignored and the raffle was never mentioned. When my husband asked about the champagne, he was told that it was for the auctioneers after the auction was complete. We decided to leave and find something else to do.

For those who were of the belief Bob Arum (Top Rank) was the cog in negotiations, this comes as a hurtful and shocking blow, with there now being no doubt as to who REALLY has kept this fight from ever happening.

There are only seven of us that go over, but after several events I guess he felt like it was time for a change. Tonight when we all got there he brings out a new set of 12g Lucky Bee NexGen Custom Poker Chips. They were really cool and definitely gave you the feeling you were playing in a Mega Moolah. I even mentioned it to him a couple times when we were playing.

The Venetian and the Bellagio are the 2 nicest hotels in Las Vegas. They are expensive. I have been to many hotels in Vegas and it all depends on what you want out of your vacation. Most people will gamble and drink into the wee hours of the morning so the hotel won’t matter much. If you want to stay at the cheapest hotel possible and stay close to gambling I recommend staying downtown. I stayed at the Las Vegas Club downtown last year. Midweek you can get a room for 35-45 bucks a night. On that trip we only slept about 10 hours total the 3 nights we were there, so the hotel didnt matter much.

You’ve heard it a thousand times, “there are no stupid questions”. Whether buying in a store or on-line, when you encounter something you don’t understand, ask a question or send an email. Most on-line sites have a FAQ page that will answer your questions. Let’s review some common questions.

ETHEL M CHOCOLATES – There are few people who do not like chocolate, so this is a natural place to learn the details. Learn how they make their grand fudge and chocolates. See them actually making the treats. The tour concludes with a free morsel of candy or chocolate for each person on the tour.

Winning and losing is something that you’ll have to learn to appreciate on different levels. Don’t assume that you will win each roulette spin, because it is not going to happen. You want to make sure that you have a firm grasp of your emotions, and that you’re not pushed to spend more money when you don’t need it, lest you lose out big in the long term. Always look to understand that losing is a part of the game, but a losing streak is not an indication that your luck is going to move back to good graces, so watch out. If you lose big, walk away for a short time. Before you can discover the secrets to winning, you will first need to take the information aforementioned, and let it settle in.
